Our Living Room Makeover .........

|

Hi All

I'm still here :)

I'm afraid blogging has had to take a back seat of late !! We've been very busy with magazine and hotel shoots .... plus I had a lovely break in The Reef (our little place in Tenerife) ...... and also, 'Himself' was working in Barcelona so I tagged along ..... it would have been rude not to :) Such a beautiful city !!!

Anyway, I thought I would share our living room makeover with you .....

This is how it looked when we bought the home .....

Our priority was to add a few features - such as a planked ceiling and new sash windows ....

Once the work was complete, we really just plonked down whatever furniture we happened to have - but more recently, we decided to replace the sofas and add some finishing touches .....

What with working with two such gifted photographers - Ashley and Stuart - I had always wanted a gallery wall with original photography - these are of some of my fave places in Europe and the US ...... a big thank you to both guys :)

I decided to use white frames on this occasion so as not to overpower the room.

There isn't a chimney or even a flue - so the Optimyst stove is a great alternative ....... the logs aren't needed needless to say - but I love the rustic texture and impact they create :)

The original French shutters were sourced for me by my good friend and very talented Interior Designer, Liz Gibney - who until recently, lived in France for many years. Many thanks to Liz for that - I adore them :)

I think either a coffee table or a footstool is very important in any living room - it just  makes people so much more comfortable and relaxed .....

Linen cushions, stripes, faux fur throw on an inexpensive Ikea sofa - cosy and comfy :)

If you follow Nat Cal, you will know I am a huge fan of Olive Trees :)

Well folks, that's all from me for now.

I hope you're not starting to feel too frazzled at the thought of Christmas - try to chill and just enjoy it if you possibly can ..... famous last words no doubt :)

Take Care

Marie x
