Well, the leaves are definitely beginning to turn here ..... I do love Autumn - the colours are just so beautiful. And to me, there's actually something lovely about lighting the fire and switching on lamps. Yet - the very next morning, you might draw the curtains to see a beautiful clear blue morning sky. I think I would find it very hard to live in a climate without seasons !!
Anyway - for this week's home page, my thoughts turned to cosy throws and rugs .....
This is such a 'snuggly' rug .... it was woven in Yorkshire using un-dyed pure wool - this is extra special as there is only a limited supply of un-dyed wool each year. We also stock the cushions in this image.
This rug would also work well in a bedroom .....
You will be seeing more of our own branded stock btw .... watch this space !!!
Next up - meet Roy :) Another original by Stuart.
I so love this bird's attitude :) Oh and btw - we are framing most of Stuart's paintings in these simple hand painted deep frames which we commissioned specially. I love that they have a beautiful matt chalky finish.
Visitors to Belfast might well recognise this ....
Stuart took this fab shot in the grounds of Stormont - home to our local parliament. For such a small country, it is a seriously impressive building with stunning grounds as you can see !!
Last up - a simple relaxing bedroom set up with one of our a beautiful cream herringbone throws - this one was woven in the heart of Ireland. Wherever possible, we love to source products made in the UK and Ireland.
Pussy Willow and old branches arranged in large vases or pitchers work particularly well this time of year. It's a great way to add texture and interest to any room without overpowering.
The stag print shown in this image is also available in our shop.
I love the play on words :)
We shall shortly be making a start shooting our new Autumn and Winter collection - including this stunning lamp - sorry for the awful picture - I literally plonked it down and took a quick snap ....
The shade is made from luxury hand woven lambswool by Johnstons of Elgin - established in Scotland in 1797. We shall also be stocking the antlers - and the mohair throw over the chair - it's hard to make out in this picture - but it is the most beautiful colour - midway between indigo and purple - I'm calling it "Storm".
Well folks, I think that's all from me for now ..... I'm looking forward to the stage when more leaves fall and reach the lovely crisp stage - who cant resist kicking them ???? :)
Take Care Everyone
