A very fine makeover ......

|

Hello Folks

Today I thought I would share a makeover which we recently shot for a magazine ....

It's a room above a garage which wasn't very pretty as you can see .....

But that all changed when my friend Donna got stuck in !!!!

She truly did an amazing job here - new flooring, decor, furniture, accessories etc .... isn't that footstool so luxurious - yet useful too !! There is a little ensuite and the room doubles as a guest bedroom - hence the day bed.

I'm afraid I cant show you the full set of images - as you can imagine, the magazines don't really like the images to appear in full before they are published !!!!

But just to give a little bit of a sneak preview  ....

I love how she used cool greys and added depth and interest with gorgeous accessories .....

The beautiful console table adds a great focal point .....

There is something so elegant I think about a stylish console table with matching lamps either side .....

I just thought this 'behind the scenes' shot might make you smile - Ashley, Donna and moi studying the screen with intense concentration :) Incidently, Ashley had been quite unwell for a time - so it was great to see him back in the saddle !!

It's quite interesting btw when doing this sort of shoot - things that look perfect to the eye may not actually work for the camera - it's basically that the camera is capturing a two dimensional section of a room - which is entirely different to walking in and taking in the full 360% with the eye ...... some people quickly adapt to studying the screen whereas others struggle a little with it - Donna took to it all like a fish to water !!

Anyways - a huge thank you to her for what was a great shoot - and afterwards, she, Stuart, Ashley and myself treated ourselves to a meal and a cold beer in a local eaterie - a good day was had by all :)

The wonderful artwork is all by "our Stuart" - I particularly love the horse - so simple yet striking !! As well as being a great photographer and lighting technician, he is a very talented artist - if he wasn't such a nice fella, I'd hate him :)

The throws and giant clock are from Natural Calico. The gorgeous grey mohair throw has been very popular - so when I was re-ordering a batch, I added some cream ones to the order - they have just arrived and we will be shooting them properly soon - but just to give you a rough idea .... I took this with my Ipad ..... how snuggly and luxurious are these then ....

Well I think that's all from me ...... I hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday weekend.

Next up - "Gather Round and Tuck In"  .......

Take Care
