Guess where I'm off to ???? ....... with my micro wardrobe ......

|

Hi All

Remember I told you a little about our bolt hole "far far away" ...... entitled  "The Reef" .... here we come !!!

Well, in a few short hours, I shall be on a jet plane en route to The Reef - aka Tenerife - where I shall be signing on the dotted line and collecting the keys for our little apartment - wooo hooo !!! :)

I shall be thinking of you all, as I wander down to the Marina ...

.... and when I'm relaxing on the balcony with a good book ...

:) :) :) :) :) :)

Sorry - I don't mean to gloat - especially when Autumn seems to be on the way here - brrrrh !!!!

I'll soon have a better idea of the work we shall be doing to the little place - but my instinct is that we will probably live with everything for a while and just "pretty it up" with some new furniture and nice accessories ......  I'll keep you posted ...

As I will be travelling this time with just hand luggage, I had to plan my packing a bit more carefully than usual ....

Me, I do love a little bit of preppy style - I know it looks best on girls with 'swishy hair' and 'slim of hips' - as opposed to someone with an 'unruly mop' and 'broad of beam' .... that would be me !!!  But what the heck .....

I thought this would be good for the journey ..... I discovered the slim leg cropped chinos in Fat Face last year and have a few pairs - they just seem to be a perfect fit and are so easy to launder. And oh my - but I do love their changing rooms ...... they are huge and like old weathered authentic beach huts .... the last time I was there, I was tempted to barricade myself in and not come out ..... I think I might need to get out a bit more Ladies :)

I always travel with a little denim jacket  ..... they're great too for the evenings if it turns a bit breezy .....

As I have reached a more 'mature age' - ahem ..... I tend to prefer dark dyed denim jackets - a little bit more 'age appropriate' perhaps ???? And yes, I cant seem to step away from stripes - be it upon my person or in the home :)

I always find a little space in the case for my ancient old cut offs ....

They have seen better days but are oh soooo comfy !! I like them best with a big linen shirt loosely tucked in and flip flops .....

I put in a white linen dress  ....

I thought it would be handy for nights out and on hot days too ..... and it takes very little space .....

A couple of new sleeveless T shirts and a 'ticking' skirt that's as old as the hills ...

..... and hopefully that will cover all eventualities :) And I think everything should mix and match ok too .....

And finally, another Fat Face purchase ....

.... which kind of says it all :)

And there was even loads of space in the case for two books and a pair of sports sandals !!!

Oh and btw - I found this book very useful ...

The writer (a retired Englishman who moved there) is clearly a very knowledgeable foodie - he has made me determined to seek out little restaurants off the beaten track where the locals eat ....

Well - that's all for now folks - I'm off  :)

Marie x

PS : Can I leave one final thought with you Ladies - Guys, you might want to tune out at this stage ...... right ..... why is it that we are more than happy with our comfy undies throughout the year - some of which may have lost their pristine whiteness - I'm not saying grey and dozed elastic btw - but I'm sure you know roughly what I mean. Sooooo - why on earth do we feel compelled to buy new undies every time we head off .... do we feel that if our bags are searched, the customs people will keel over at the very sight of ever so slightly faded comfie undies ..... hmmmmmm - right I'm definitely away this time .....
