I chose this as an example of how the Natural Calico style works in an urban setting. It's actually my last home - a 1920's semi - a massive renovation job but one Himself and I enjoyed!
I felt the room itself, although not big, had a kind of natural elegance and I tried to enhance that using a neutral palette. The key when using so little colour is to inject depth and interest with some key features and items - like the old salvaged fireplace, the vintage mirror and the chandelier. The rest was down to a mixture of furnishings and accessories in whites and greys - the inexpensive Ikea sofa alongside a little vintage coffee table. Throws and cushions add texture and comfort. Home sweet home!
